About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Recovery Worker to join our Mental Health and Complex Needs service at Hestia Charity. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are experiencing or at risk of a mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Motivate service users to identify causes of crises and develop strategies to prevent future issues.
  • Develop and implement individual safety plans to proactively manage mental health and wellbeing.
  • Conduct one-to-one sessions with service users to support them in developing their own wellness and recovery action plans.
  • Assist service users in developing their social networks and accessing mainstream or specialist educational, leisure, and health-related activities.
  • Liaise effectively with statutory providers and other voluntary sector agencies involved in the support and treatment of service users.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to support service users with a range of mental health issues and associated impacts.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer visits, support, interventions, and outcomes.

Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental health difficulties.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting individuals with a range of mental health conditions, how to communicate effectively with these individuals, and how to support them with dignity and respect.
  • Ability to empower service users to make choices and take control of their mental health to achieve appropriate levels of independence.
  • Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation, particularly the Care Program Approach (CPA) processes.
  • Understanding of the principles of recovery as an ethos and a range of recovery approaches.
  • Awareness of health and safety issues.
  • Commitment to co-producing service delivery with service users to reduce mental health crises and develop strategies for better mental health.
  • Ability to work at evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and the internet.
  • Ability to complete and record basic financial transactions, including managing petty cash.
