Job Overview

Responsibilities
  • Personal Support: Assist patients with fundamental activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, using the restroom, and eating.
  • Mobility Assistance: Support patients' movements and positioning, following NHS guidelines on manual handling.
  • Routine Management: Help patients follow established routines and stick to their care plans.
  • Effective Communication: Engage in clear communication with patients, their families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Patient Transportation: Accompany patients to their appointments or organized activities within the NHS Trust as necessary.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Observe and document any changes in patients' health conditions or behaviors to notify healthcare professionals.
  • Record Keeping & IT Skills: Ensure accurate documentation of care using NHS IT systems.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Meet NHS requirements by having received vaccinations for certain communicable illnesses, maintaining safety standards for both patients and staff.
Qualifications and Background
  • Mandatory:
    • Prior experience in a healthcare role, care home, or related field.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within an NHS team.
    • Knowledge of basic IT systems relevant to healthcare record keeping.
  • Preferred:
    • Completion of the NHS Care Certificate or a commitment to complete it upon hiring.
    • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
    • Understanding of NHS standards, particularly regarding infection control.
Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately £25,000-£30,000, depending on experience.
