Principal Game Designer

Lighthouse Games is a pioneering game development studio, renowned for crafting immersive and engaging gaming experiences. As a Principal Game Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision and direction of our upcoming projects.

Working closely with our talented design team, you will lead the creation of innovative and captivating gameplay experiences. You will drive the development of cutting-edge game mechanics, systems, and features, ensuring they align with the overall design goals and deliver an exceptional player experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of game designers, providing guidance, support, and feedback to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including art, engineering, and production, to ensure the successful implementation of game features and deliverables.
  • Create comprehensive design documentation, including game mechanics, systems, and level designs, to ensure clarity and consistency throughout the development process.
  • Iterate and refine game mechanics and systems based on playtest feedback and player analytics to ensure a high-quality player experience.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve and innovate the design process, driving the studio's growth and success.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience as a game designer, preferably in a senior or principal role, with a proven track record of designing and shipping successful AAA games.
  • Strong knowledge of game design principles and methodologies, with a deep understanding of player motivations and behaviors.
  • Exceptional creativity and ability to generate innovative ideas, with a passion for gaming and a commitment to delivering exceptional player experiences.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team of designers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
