About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Child Mental Health Specialist, where you will play a vital role in delivering therapeutic interventions to help children overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate reflective practice for residential staff to enhance therapeutically informed practice, staff resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
- Provide direct support to Looked After Children and Care Leavers to improve their emotional health and wellbeing.
- Work with children, residential carers, and social workers to address care arrangements at risk of breaking down.
- Offer consultative support and training to foster carers and residential staff on complex needs cases.
- Contribute to the development of the UK Therapeutic Service to meet the needs of staff and young people across the organisation.
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Therapy)
- A minimum of three years' experience working directly with children, young people, and families
- Experience of dealing with crisis situations and working with emergency services
- A minimum of one year's experience delivering therapeutic interventions
- Experience of working in a multi-agency setting
- Knowledge of the UK Legislative framework
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge/Experience of Care Planning and Care Management
- Ability to manage caseload and work independently
- Responsive to deadlines
- Excellent IT, report writing, and presentation skills
- Ability and willingness to work outside of normal office hours as required

- Salary: £37,500 - £40,000 (Full-time equivalent: £7,500 - £8,000 pro-rated)
