About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Child Mental Health Specialist, where you will play a vital role in delivering therapeutic interventions to help children overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.



Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate reflective practice for residential staff to enhance therapeutically informed practice, staff resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Provide direct support to Looked After Children and Care Leavers to improve their emotional health and wellbeing.
  • Work with children, residential carers, and social workers to address care arrangements at risk of breaking down.
  • Offer consultative support and training to foster carers and residential staff on complex needs cases.
  • Contribute to the development of the UK Therapeutic Service to meet the needs of staff and young people across the organisation.


Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Therapy)
  • A minimum of three years' experience working directly with children, young people, and families
  • Experience of dealing with crisis situations and working with emergency services
  • A minimum of one year's experience delivering therapeutic interventions
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency setting
  • Knowledge of the UK Legislative framework
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge/Experience of Care Planning and Care Management
  • Ability to manage caseload and work independently
  • Responsive to deadlines
  • Excellent IT, report writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of normal office hours as required
