About Our Approach

We take a flexible and balanced approach to our work, focusing on continuous improvement and adopting hybrid ways of working. This allows us to provide collaborative workspaces while also enabling staff to work from home and touchdown areas where necessary.

This approach has been shaped by feedback from our staff and communities, as well as lessons learned during the pandemic. We have embedded important principles around 'Our Way Forward', which underpin our vision for Children's Services.

Our Assessment Teams undertake single child and family assessments for circumstances where our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub has identified the need for a social work assessment. With a strong partnership approach, dedicated Out of Hours service, strength-based assessments, robust pathways for Early Help, and strong performance, our service embeds strong working relationships with families from the start of their journey.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Specialist Family Support Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working collaboratively with families to assess their needs and develop tailored support plans;
  • Providing high-quality assessments and interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and families;
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of cases and interventions;
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote effective practice in Children's Services.
About You

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and other stakeholders;
  • Excellent assessment and planning skills, with the ability to identify and address the needs of complex and diverse cases;
  • Proven experience of working in a social care or related field, with a focus on supporting vulnerable children and families;
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practice in social work and childcare.
What We Offer
