About the Role

This is an exciting new opportunity to deliver innovative psychological therapies for patients with psychosis. As part of the Sleeping Better and Feeling Safer clinical trials, you will be working in collaboration with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust colleagues and our community sector provider of substance misuse services, Change Grow Live (CGL).

We are seeking an experienced psychologist or psychological therapist to support the development of this new service innovation, enhancing the provision of psychosocial interventions within the community for individuals with difficulties associated with substance misuse.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support drug and alcohol key workers in delivering psychosocial approaches.
  • Plan and deliver clinical formulation sessions via multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Work with CGL managers to identify training needs.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver skills practice supervision sessions.
  • Collaborate with the service to develop their intervention offer.

About the Team

You will be supported in your role by a principal clinical psychologist and a consultant clinical psychologist. This role is managed within the community mental health service, and you will be part of a wider family of psychological professionals with access to training and supervision opportunities within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.

Person Specification

  • Experience of working with a range of clients, presenting a range of clinical severity, and maintaining professionalism in challenging circumstances.
  • Experience of tailoring psychological assessment and intervention to individual needs.
  • Experience of working with adults with forensic needs/inpatient secure settings.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of highly specialist psychological assessment methods and therapeutic approaches in relation to the client group.
  • Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and the legal context of inpatient/secure services.
  • Commitment to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with other members of the Psychological Services.
  • Well-developed communication skills, suitable to the specialty.

Qualifications

  • Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC in Clinical Psychology.
