Main Purpose of Job:

To provide high-quality practical support for teaching and learning, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students in the construction industry.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist teaching staff in supervising students during practical activities, promoting the development of specialist skills and adherence to safe working practices.

* Demonstrate the correct use of equipment and handling of materials to students, enhancing their skills and ensuring a safe working environment.

* Contribute to the supervision of student recreational activities and educational visits, providing a high-quality student experience.

* Act as a role model for students, promoting high standards of conduct and behavior.

* Maintain designated practical work areas, ensuring effective support to teachers and learners, a high standard of cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety requirements.

* Regularly check, maintain, and repair equipment in accordance with College guidelines, ensuring it is safe and ready for use when required.

* Prepare and construct equipment and materials for use by teaching staff and students, assisting in the delivery of teaching and learning.

* Provide technical advice to staff and students on the selection and use of equipment and materials for teaching and learning purposes, and prepare written technical guidelines as necessary.

* Operate a booking system to control the allocation and usage of equipment and resources for teaching and learning.

* Monitor and maintain stock levels of consumables, ordering supplies as needed to support the learning process.

* Maintain inventories of equipment in accordance with College procedures.

* Safely dispose of waste materials to maintain a safe learning environment.

Requirements:

* Current industry knowledge and relevant qualifications at level 2 & 3 are desirable.

Salary:

Up to £24,086.81 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
