Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Officer to join our team at Venn Group. As a key member of our Strategic Procurement Service, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of high-value and complex tenders, as well as working with Business Partners to undertake specific category projects.

About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to work with a local authority in the Southwest, where you will be part of a dynamic team that supports the commercial needs of the Council. You will be working in a hybrid setup, ideally 2 days a week onsite, and will be required to work full-time hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of high-value and complex tenders, or work with a Business Partner to undertake specific category projects.
  • Develop critical relationships at all levels, particularly with Directors, lead commissioners, outcome managers, senior managers, and others who influence commercial outcomes.
  • Provide strategic procurement advice and support to stakeholders at all levels across an organisation.
  • Identify commercial risk and provide high-level commercial advice to stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Professional CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualification or equivalent and evidence of experience or necessary skills through training.
  • Previous Adults commissioning experience is highly desirable.
  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of strategic procurement principles.
  • Experience in developing/reviewing relevant procurement/contract terms.
  • Local Government experience required for initial shortlisting, thereafter at the client's discretion.
