Senior Procurement Officer Opportunity

We are working with a local authority to find a Senior Procurement Officer with expertise in Adults Commissioning. This role involves managing high-value and complex tenders, or collaborating with a Business Partner on specific category projects within the Council's Strategic Procurement Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-value and complex tenders as part of the Strategic Procurement Service
  • Work with a Business Partner on specific category projects
  • Develop critical relationships with Directors, lead commissioners, outcome managers, senior managers, and others who influence commercial outcomes

Requirements:

  • Professional CIPS qualification or equivalent, with evidence of experience or necessary skills through training
  • Previous Adults commissioning experience is highly desirable
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of strategic procurement principles
  • Experience in developing and reviewing relevant procurement and contract terms
  • Local Government experience required for initial shortlisting, thereafter at the client's discretion
  • Proven track record of providing strategic procurement advice and support to stakeholders at all levels across an organisation
  • Demonstrable understanding of the commercial environment, including the identification of commercial risk and providing high-level commercial advice to stakeholders at all levels
