**Job Title:** Senior Culinary Director

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Culinary Director to lead our culinary team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of menus, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring high-quality food standards.

The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing culinary operations. You will also have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

**Salary:** $20.50 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items: Plan and budget for food and kitchen supplies to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory: Accurately track and report on food costs, sales, and inventory levels to inform culinary operations and menu planning.
  • Analyze operating costs and other data: Analyze financial data to identify areas for cost savings and improvement, and implement changes as needed.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff: Train and mentor kitchen staff on new cooking techniques and equipment to improve food quality and efficiency.
  • Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers: Lead and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Create new recipes: Develop and introduce new menu items to keep offerings fresh and exciting.
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food: Train and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets: Prepare and cook customized meals for special events, using creativity and expertise to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff: Manage and direct kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions: Prepare and cook meals for regular service, as well as for special occasions and events.
  • Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods: Prepare and cook customized meals and specialty foods to meet customer requests and preferences.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies: Order and procure food and kitchen supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations.
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs: Coordinate the purchase and repair of kitchen equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions: Meet with clients to discuss their needs and preferences for custom events, and develop plans to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants: Oversee food preparation and cooking operations across multiple locations, ensuring consistency and high-quality standards.
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards: Develop and implement menus that meet customer expectations and comply with quality and safety standards.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances: Prepare customized meals to accommodate customer dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Recruit and hire staff: Identify and recruit skilled and enthusiastic kitchen staff to join our team.
  • Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks: Manage and direct kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food: Train and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking, and handling techniques to ensure high-quality standards.
