About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Nursing and HPE Directorate within Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) as an Administrative Assistant. The post offers a chance to work in a dynamic team and contribute to the development of a workforce that delivers excellent care to patients/service users and excellent population health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective and efficient clerical and administrative support to the Nursing and HPE Directorate within HEIW.
  • Coordinate and implement office procedures, requiring a high degree of organizational skills and excellent working knowledge of administrative systems.
  • Be the first point of contact for the service, requiring clear communication and liaison skills.
  • Manage and prioritize your own workload, using your initiative to drive improvement.
  • Work as part of a team, requiring cross-cover during periods of absence.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information.

Person Specification

  • Level 3 secretarial or administration qualification (e.g., NVQ level 3 or RSA qualification) or equivalent demonstrable experience of administrative/office skills and knowledge.
  • Experience of working in an administrative/office environment.
  • Familiar and competent with Microsoft IT packages, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiar and confident using email and searching the internet.
