We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our anaesthetic department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, responsive anaesthetic services and perioperative care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective anaesthetic strategies to improve patient outcomes and reduce complications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and optimize treatment plans.
- Conduct regular audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance anaesthetic services and patient safety.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine.
- Participate in departmental and trust-wide initiatives to improve patient experience, safety, and outcomes.
- Full Registration with the GMC with licence to practise.
- FRCA or equivalent qualification.
- CCT (or equivalent) with entry on Specialist Register for Anaesthesia or within six months of anticipated CCT date.
- Advanced training in perioperative medicine or equivalent.
- Higher training in general, urological, and gynaecological surgery, obstetric anaesthesia, anaesthesia for day case head and neck and maxillofacial surgery, and anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery, including regional anaesthesia and paediatric anaesthesia.
- Additional degree or post-graduate qualification (MRCP, MD, etc.).
- Post-graduate prizes.
- MSc/Diploma/PG certification in Perioperative Medicine or equivalent.
- Management/leadership qualification.
- Advanced training in cardiopulmonary exercise testing, orthopaedics, and/or regional anaesthesia, general, urological, and gynaecological surgery, paediatric anaesthesia, and ATLS/APLS.
- Relevant medical experience outside anaesthesia.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to work harmoniously in a multi-disciplinary team, showing respect for patients and colleagues.
