Job Summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Anaesthetist to provide additional cover for a new Vanguard Theatre. This is a fixed-term, 2-year consultant post.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will share the case-load, facilities, and trainee grade support with existing consultants. They will lead developments in anaesthetic services, particularly trauma anaesthesia, within the Trust.

About the Role

This Locum post will be based at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow and will be responsible for providing high-quality, responsive Anaesthetic services to The Princess Alexandra Hospital. The appointee will assume responsibility for patients within the catchment area in cooperation with Consultant colleagues in Anaesthetics and other clinical departments.

Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC with licence to practise
  • FRCA or equivalent/CCT (or equivalent) with entry on Specialist Register for Anaesthesia
  • A higher degree or equivalent MD, PhD (desirable)
  • MSc/Diploma/PG certification in Perioperative medicine or equivalent Management/leadership qualification (desirable)
