Job Summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Anaesthetist to provide additional cover for a new Vanguard Theatre. This is a fixed-term, 2-year consultant post.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will share the case-load, facilities, and trainee grade support with existing consultants. They will lead developments in anaesthetic services, particularly trauma anaesthesia, within the Trust.

Responsibilities

The Consultant Anaesthetist will be responsible for providing high-quality, responsive anaesthetic services and perioperative care to patients at The Princess Alexandra Hospital. They will work in conjunction with Consultant colleagues in Anaesthetics and other clinical departments to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Requirements

The successful candidate will need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • Full registration with the GMC with licence to practise
  • FRCA or equivalent/CCT (or equivalent) with entry on Specialist Register for Anaesthesia

Desirable criteria include a higher degree or equivalent, MSc/Diploma/PG certification in Perioperative medicine, or a management/leadership qualification.
