Job Title: Anaesthetist Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Anaesthetist Consultant to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our anaesthetics department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments to determine the most appropriate anaesthetic technique.
  • Administer general, regional, or local anaesthesia to patients undergoing surgery or other medical procedures.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anaesthesia levels as necessary to ensure patient safety.
  • Provide post-operative care, including managing pain relief and monitoring recovery.
  • Conduct comprehensive pre-operative consultations, including medical history reviews and risk assessments.
  • Ensure informed consent is obtained from patients or their guardians before administering anaesthesia.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including complications during surgery or post-operative recovery.
  • Provide advanced life support and critical care interventions as needed.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in complex cases, ensuring high standards of care.
Requirements:
  • Valid GMC registration.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum of 6 months paid experience in the NHS/UK.
  • Clinical attachment complete.
