Anaesthesia Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our anaesthetic department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic services to patients undergoing surgery, as well as contributing to the development of perioperative medicine within the trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide anaesthetic services to patients undergoing surgery, including pre-operative assessment, anaesthesia, and post-operative care.
- Develop and implement perioperative medicine services, including risk stratification and optimization of patients undergoing high-risk surgery.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
- Participate in teaching and training of junior staff, including medical students and junior doctors.
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols for anaesthetic services.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in audit and research activities.
- Full registration with the GMC and a licence to practise.
- FRCA or equivalent qualification.
- CCT (or equivalent) with entry on the Specialist Register for Anaesthesia or within six months of anticipated CCT date.
- Advanced training in perioperative medicine or equivalent.
- Higher training in general, urological and gynaecological surgery, obstetric anaesthesia, anaesthesia for day case head and neck and maxillofacial surgery, and anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery, including regional anaesthesia and paediatric anaesthesia.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
