Job DescriptionVolunteer Role: Chaperone Support

We are seeking a volunteer to support our Professional Standards Department in providing administrative assistance during hearings at our headquarters in Lewes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of these events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet staff/officers/witnesses at reception and escort them to their allocated rooms
  • Accompany staff/officers/witnesses during scheduled breaks and ensure they reach their designated areas safely
  • Provide logistical support for setting up hearing rooms as required

Please note that you will not be involved in the hearing process or receive any information about the outcomes.

The volunteering hours will vary depending on the length of the hearings, which can range from one to two days. We provide approximately one month's notice for scheduled hearings, and we typically hold around 10 hearings per year.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess excellent interpersonal skills, remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
