Job Description

Role Overview

The Great Western Hospitals NHS FT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foot and Ankle Specialist to join our team as a Locum Consultant. As a senior member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based care for patients with foot and ankle conditions, including trauma, elective, and diabetic foot care.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in the management of complex foot and ankle cases.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and guidelines to improve patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of our services, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways.
  • Supervise and mentor junior colleagues, including medical students and junior doctors.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of our department's research agenda.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Experience in foot and ankle surgery, including trauma and elective cases.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.
