About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Podiatrist to join our Integrated Podiatry Team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Community Podiatry Service Provider, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, GP practices, and patients' homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of patients with a wide range of clinical needs, including high-risk patients, those with diabetes, neuropathy, and chronic diseases.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, which may include administration of local anesthesia, nail surgery, orthotics, wound management, and provision of foot health education.
  • Referral and Collaboration: Refer patients to other professionals and specialist areas as needed, following established departmental referral pathways.
  • Annual Diabetic Foot Reviews: Conduct annual reviews of diabetic patients, including vascular assessments using Doppler ultrasound.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Degree in Podiatry or equivalent, HCPC Registration as a Podiatrist, Local Anesthetic Certificate, and evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience: Proven experience working within the NHS, creating and evaluating treatment plans, nail surgery techniques, and treatment of high-risk patient groups.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Excellent written communication skills, ability to organize and prioritize work, and understanding of confidentiality and record-keeping.
