About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Podiatrist to join our integrated podiatry team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Podiatrist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose patients with a wide range of clinical needs, including those at risk, with metabolic, vascular, or neurological disorders.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans, including nail surgery, orthotics, wound management, and foot health education.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Perform annual diabetic foot reviews in accordance with NICE guidance, including vascular assessment using Doppler ultrasound.
Person SpecificationEducation and Qualifications
  • Essential: Degree in Podiatry or equivalent, HCPC Registration as a Podiatrist, Local Anesthetic Certificate, and Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate Certificates.
Experience and Skills
  • Essential: Post-registration experience, experience working within the NHS, experience creating and evaluating treatment plans, experience of nail surgery techniques, and experience treating high-risk patient groups.
  • Desirable: Experience working in a community setting, including patients' places of residence.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Essential: Understanding of Confidentiality and Record Keeping, Excellent Standard of Written Communication Skills, Ability to Organize and Prioritize Own Work, and Ability to Work Under Pressure.
  • Desirable: Ability to Use Electronic Medical Records (training provided).
