Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Podiatrist to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Podiatrist (Diabetes Service Specialist), you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop individual treatment plans for patients with a wide range of clinical needs, including those at risk of metabolic, vascular, or neurological disorders.
  • Provide high-quality clinical care in accordance with NICE Guidance, working independently in clinics, hospitals, GP practices, and domiciliary settings.
  • Be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of Podiatric care for patients with various clinical needs, including high-risk, diabetes, neuropathy, chronic disease, wound management, and tissue viability.
  • Referral of patients who require the intervention of other professionals and specialist areas, following agreed departmental referral pathways.
  • Carry out annual diabetic foot reviews in accordance with NICE guidance, including vascular assessment using Doppler ultrasound assessment.
Requirements
  • Highly developed physical skills and precision hand/eye coordination for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
