Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Podiatrist to join our Community Podiatry team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the integrated team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with complex needs in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, and patients' homes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work as part of the integrated podiatry team, providing care in accordance with service criteria, including working independently in clinics, hospitals, GP practices, and domiciliary settings.
  • To assess, diagnose, develop, and implement individual treatment plans for patients with a wide range of clinical needs, including those at risk, who suffer from metabolic, vascular, or neurological disorders, or diabetes compromising the integrity of the lower limb.
  • To refer patients who require the intervention of other professionals or specialist areas, following agreed departmental referral pathways.
  • To carry out annual diabetic foot reviews in accordance with NICE guidance, including vascular assessment using Doppler ultrasound assessment.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in Podiatry or equivalent.
  • HCPC Registration as a Podiatrist.
  • Local anaesthetic certificate.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable Criteria

  • Postgraduate Certificates.
  • Experience of working within the NHS.
  • Experience of creating and evaluating treatment plans.
  • Experience of nail surgery techniques.
