Context for Role:

  • ESAB Welding & Cutting GmbH is a leading industrial company with a strong presence in the global market.
  • The Gas Control Equipment division is a key growth area, driven by secular trends, high-end industrial and medical applications, and regulatory challenges.
  • The division has a robust plan to double in size by 2027, with the backing of the board and ongoing execution.
  • The Industrial business area represents a significant revenue stream, with a focus on traditional applications and cutting-edge automation.
  • This area has been a stable contributor but requires revitalization through systematic approaches, including product positioning, application expansion, and cost optimization.

Scope of Role:

  • The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end business development of key product groups, representing a substantial revenue stream.
  • Supported by various functions, including R&D, application designers, supply chain, and sales companies, the candidate will drive growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
    • Develop a plan to increase market share through customer, channel, geography, and product portfolio expansion.
    • Create a robust value proposition leveraging competitive benchmarking.
    • Animate channel programs, marketing, and rebate programs to leverage the ESAB network.
    • Drive sales trainings, customer webinars, and end-user meetings.
  • Product Management:
    • Work with the factory to improve costs, lead time, and inventory through SIOP and projects.
    • Align with global product managers to optimize range, costs, supply chain, manufacturing, and product portfolio strategy.
    • Drive market and application expansion initiatives for industrial gas equipment.

Year 1 Goals:

  • Drive concrete actions to take market share and grow revenue by $1M in the mid-market range.
  • Identify under-penetrated products and geographies and improve sales.
  • Build a concrete channel optimization and go-to-market strategy for the wider CWT and industrial range.
  • Conduct a thorough gap analysis to grow market shares in specific product lines, applications, and customer segments.
  • Direct and deliver new product introductions.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on industrial business.
  • Experience in transforming organizations from product to application and value-added focus.
  • Experience in gas equipment business is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills:

  • Hard Skills: ability to drive and own specific growth actions, analytical, product management, business acumen, market research, product innovation, pricing, process management.
  • Soft Skills: strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence without authority with sales units and factory, ability to drive change in an international environment.
  • English speaking.
