Job Role Overview

The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for steering our Learning and Development programme, working closely with stakeholders, programme participants, and the wider People team. This role is accountable for delivery, including planning, scoping, resourcing, reporting, and budgeting of the programme. The successful candidate will execute consistently to a high quality and align with programme deliverables, playing a key role in shaping the learning and development landscape within Genomics England.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and deliver end-to-end learning and development programmes, including pre- and post-programme activities.
  2. Design and procure bespoke L&D solutions for teams and leadership programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational needs.
  3. Coordinate and administer L&D events within and outside the Learning Management System (LMS).
  4. Facilitate welcome week-style training.
  5. Report on L&D performance, metrics, and provider effectiveness, using data to support decision-making.

Requirements

  1. Demonstrated success in managing and delivering multiple concurrent Learning & Development programs.
  2. Strong project management skills, including managing budgets, procurement, and external provider contracts.
  3. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and experience in setting up and managing L&D events.
  4. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects.
