Job Description

**Financial Controller - A Strategic Role for a Thriving Distribution Business**

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned financial professional to join our client, a dynamic distribution business based in the North West of England. As a Financial Controller, you will play a key part in delivering the company's ambitious 5-Year Plan, working closely with the Founder, Senior Management, and all levels of colleagues.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Financial Reporting and Analysis:** Prepare and finalise monthly management accounts and management information (MI) packs, including commentary, and report directly to the Managing Director.
  • **Leadership and Strategy:** Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to the strategic direction of the company, providing clear, concise financial insights to support business decisions.
  • **Financial Performance Evaluation:** Continuously evaluate the company's financial performance and identify opportunities for value creation, driving business growth and profitability.
  • **Financial Systems and Processes:** Oversee the entire process of rebate management and reconciliations, manage and reconcile the balance sheet, and ensure accurate control and reporting.
  • **Financial Leadership:** Lead the finance team, including recruitment, training, and professional development, and manage Accounts Payable, Credit Control, and Cash Management functions.
  • **Financial Planning and Budgeting:** Complete financial forecasting and develop comprehensive budgets, leading and managing the entire annual audit process.
  • **Compliance and Risk Management:** Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including managing company insurance policies, and oversee the renewal of company insurance policies, including credit insurance.
  • **Ad Hoc Projects and Analysis:** Handle various ad hoc projects and analyses to drive continuous improvement within the company, participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance business efficiency.
  • **Performance Monitoring and KPIs:** Assess company performance through key data analysis, monitoring, and developing KPIs to drive improvements, and maintain a strong working knowledge of SAP Business One.
