Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Head of System Engineering - Submarines to join our Platform Systems Governance and Assurance team.

You will be responsible for managing governance and assurance activities on behalf of the Test & Facilities Capability (T&FC), developing and maintaining processes that support the entire engineering lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of managing engineering and quality governance activities within a complex software environment, knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and exposure to Engineering Management Plans/Business Management systems/Operational Frameworks.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of emerging or existing compliance risks related to Engineering and Quality standards
  • Develop and implement a risk-based audit schedule, supporting inspections and recertification processes
  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the T&FC Operational Framework and Code of Practice
  • Ensure T&FC's governance structures and arrangements promote appropriate levels of responsibility, accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level in a STEM related subject
  • Proven experience of managing engineering and quality governance activities within a complex software environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001
  • Exposure to Engineering Management Plans/Business Management systems/Operational Frameworks

Additional Benefits:

The salary for this role is approximately £48,000-£60,000 dependent on skills and experience, with additional benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance, and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
