About This Role
The Principal Nuclear Engineer (EC&I) is responsible for coordinating and leading the resolution of diverse issues that arise during the build and test of the reactor plant, with a strong emphasis on developing technical solutions to problems and ensuring that the associated safety case is adequate. This includes ensuring that the design intent of the Naval Reactor Plant is maintained during build and test activities on site, and providing technical rationale and sound engineering recommendations to Rolls-Royce and MoD to challenge existing requirements.

Your Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in Electrical Engineering or Control and Instrumentation Engineering, as well as experience of supporting build and commissioning of Electrical and/or Control Systems. Additionally, you should have a demonstrable understanding of 3 phase/single phase machines, digital and analogue based control systems, and mechanical interfaces. Technical report writing skills are also essential. Experience of justifying design change, ideally on a Nuclear Plant, would be desirable, as would previous Nuclear Plant experience and knowledge of the Nuclear Industry and Nuclear Regulations. Exposure to Microsoft Office Suite is also beneficial.
