Electrical Power Systems Specialist

Location: Barrow-In-Furness

Estimated Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, negotiable based on skills and experience.

Job Summary:

As an Electrical Power Systems Specialist, you will play a critical role in the commissioning of the electrical power and distribution plant for the Dreadnought submarines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Commissioning Project Leader as required, supervising personnel on shift.
  • Instruct and mentor team members within your knowledge and competency.
  • Research, author, and review design and test documentations to required standards.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken safely and compliantly.
  • Keep accurate records of work activities.
  • Represent the company at various tests and outworking requirements.

Requirements:

  • Degree/HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC electrical generation and power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with Distribution Systems, C&I, and Electrical Testing.
  • Understanding of Instrumentation Systems, including Electrostatic Discharge, Low Voltage Control, Data Communications, PLCs, and Fibre Optics.
  • Detailed knowledge of Safety Control and Procedures in a high-risk environment.
