Radiation Protection Engineer
We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our team in the Nuclear Industry, working on a new framework/project at Cumbria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and calibrating Radiation Protection instruments and associated equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Work safely in accordance with all safety, quality, security, environmental, and site instructions and requirements.
- Repair, maintain, calibrate, and test Radiation Protection Instruments to meet customer work demands.
- Work to maintenance instructions and record information accurately.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements by conforming to local procedures, rules, and working practices.
- Provide technical advice, updates on work progress, and relevant information to customers as needed.
- Act as a mentor for other team members, ensuring standards and best practices are maintained.
- Identify improvements and innovations in service provision to enhance efficiency and quality, implementing agreed improvements in a timely manner.
- An apprenticeship or equivalent training in Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Technology fields.
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent (at Grade C or above) including English, a Science subject, and Maths at a minimum of Grade B.
- Knowledge and understanding of conventional and nuclear safety.
- Proven experience of servicing electronic instrument systems.
- A minimum level of qualifications verified.
- Ability to gain BPSS clearance.
Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 per annum, depending on experience.
