OCS Group is seeking a skilled Security Officer to provide exceptional security services at a prestigious Scientific Research Institute in Cambridgeshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients and visitors, while delivering outstanding customer service.

The successful candidate will work a full-time schedule of 56 hours per week, with a rotating shift pattern of 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. This role requires a high level of physical fitness, as you will be undertaking regular foot patrols and ensuring the security of the campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal and external foot patrols to ensure the security of the campus
  • Monitor access control, CCTV, and alarm systems from the control room
  • Ensure all procedures, site instructions, and SOPs are followed at all times
  • Manage site entry, car park barriers, and traffic flow
  • Provide after-hours reception duties
  • Accurately record incidents and events using computer-based software

Requirements:

  • SIA Licence (manned guarding or door supervisor) is essential, with CCTV Licence desirable
  • Minimum 3 years of security experience is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English
  • Smart and professional appearance, with good observational and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Clean UK Driver's Licence and own reliable transport are essential
  • Physically capable of undertaking regular foot patrols
