Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Digital/FPGA Design Engineer to join our team in Great Chesterford. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance digital systems using FPGA technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead DSP System Design and Architecture: Take the lead on designing and developing high-performance digital systems using FPGA technology, with a focus on signal processing and real-time systems.
  2. Design and Develop FPGA Code: Design, develop, and verify FPGA code using Xilinx design tools, such as Vivado, targeted at Zynq MPSoC or similar.
  3. Design Software for Test and Verification: Design software for test and verification of FPGA code, ensuring high-quality and reliable results.
  4. Lead Field Trials: Lead field trials of signal processing performance, ensuring successful deployment and integration of digital systems.
  5. Generate Design Documentation: Generate design documentation for communication and dissemination across the engineering team, ensuring clear and concise information.
Requirements:
  1. Engineering or Relevant Technical Degree: Engineering or relevant technical degree (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
  2. Xilinx Design Tools Experience: Development experience using Xilinx design tools, such as Vivado, targeted at Zynq MPSoC or similar.
  3. Signal Processing Experience: Experience in implementing signal processing algorithms with high-speed I/O in FPGA.
  4. High-Speed Digital Circuits: Understanding of the design of high-speed digital circuits for real-time systems.
  5. Design Verification: Experience in design verification by both simulation (SystemVerilog or similar) and hardware testing.
  6. Software Design Experience: Software design experience using C/C++, Python, or Rust.
  7. Test Equipment Experience: Proficiency with test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, signal generators, etc.
  8. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to facilitate efficient hybrid office/home collaborative working.
Desirable Requirements:
  1. Radar or Sonar Experience: Knowledge of radar, sonar, or similar sensor systems.
  2. Radar Signal Processing: Understanding of radar signal processing techniques.
  3. Embedded Linux Experience: Embedded Linux C/C++ development experience.
  4. Yocto and Petalinux Experience: Familiarity with Yocto and/or Petalinux build systems.
  5. Xilinx HLS Experience: Experience with Xilinx HLS.
