Media Relations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Media Relations Manager to join our regional marketing and communications team at AECOM. This role will involve developing and executing media relations strategies, building strong relationships with journalists and media outlets, and ensuring consistent and positive coverage of our projects, expertise, and achievements.
The ideal candidate will have good experience in media relations or journalism and be able to work under pressure and against tight deadlines. Excellent writing and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to engage with different stakeholders and provide communications advice to internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement media campaigns that align with business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers across regional, national, and trade media outlets.
- Coordinate and manage media interviews, press conferences, and briefings, ensuring company representatives are well-prepared.
- Monitor and analyse media coverage, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
Requirements:
- Good experience in media relations or journalism.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to engage with different stakeholders and provide communications advice to internal teams.
- Strong relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers across regional, national, and trade media outlets.
