Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled Media Relations and Communications Specialist to join our regional marketing and communications team. The successful candidate will develop and execute media relations strategies, build strong relationships with journalists and media outlets, and ensure consistent and positive coverage of our projects, expertise, and achievements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation and Distribution:
    • Coordinate, draft, and distribute press releases, opinion pieces, media kits, and other communications materials, including media interviews and social media content for AECOM executives.
    • Proactively collaborate with internal teams to identify media opportunities and develop compelling stories that showcase AECOM's expertise and how we are delivering a better world.
    • Oversee the dissemination of news across digital and social media platforms, ensuring consistency in messaging.
    • Prepare briefing notes and Q&As for executives ahead of media interviews.
  • PR Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement media campaigns that align with business objectives.
    • Identify key media opportunities to promote the company's projects, leadership, and industry thought leadership.
    • Monitor industry trends and news to proactively position the company in relevant discussions.
  • Media Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers across regional, national, and trade media outlets.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
    • Coordinate and manage media interviews, press conferences, and briefings, ensuring company representatives are well-prepared.

Requirements:

  • Good experience in media relations or journalism.
  • Ability to work under pressure and against tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
