About the Role:

The Countryside Jobs Service is seeking a skilled professional to lead a team of trainees in a three-year initiative focused on improving biodiversity along Scotland's iconic John Muir Way. As a Greenskills Leader, you will be responsible for line managing trainees, delivering practical training, and overseeing biodiversity enhancement tasks on partner sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of six Green Skills Trainees per year, located in Edinburgh, Falkirk, North Lanarkshire, and East Dunbartonshire.
  • Manage the delivery of practical training and biodiversity enhancement tasks on partner sites.
  • Liaise with greenspace teams in Local Authorities and Scottish Canals to agree sites and projects.
  • Contribute to project evaluation, local budget management, and programme promotion.
  • Work closely with the People and Admin Coordinator to manage the schedule of external training, trainee attendance, annual leave, onboarding, and programme exiting.
Requirements:
  • Previous management experience of a training program or structured delivery model.
  • Mentoring and/or coaching young people.
  • A passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals.
  • Knowledge and understanding of practical biodiversity projects and events.
