Director of Health Policy Administration

To oversee the administrative and financial operations of a large, complex Joint Health Science department, ensuring efficient management of staff and faculty within the School of Medicine and multiple major collaborations. Represent and communicate on behalf of the chair regarding all administrative and financial matters. Assist the chair in strategic planning for the department, making decisions on financial resource allocation and ensuring proper accounting for state, grant, and miscellaneous restricted/unrestricted accounts. Oversee the review, approval, and reporting of expenditures, performing financial analyses and forecasting. Handle space and facilities planning, human resources actions, and employee relations issues for staff and faculty. Assist in recruitment and retention of new faculty members, overseeing and originating programs and special events related to the department. Conduct audits to diagnose operational inefficiencies and take action to improve them. Provide financial guidance to staff and manage revenue-producing activities as needed. Assist and advise the chair on policy development related to administrative, fiscal, and operational functions. Supervise staff responsible for departmental human resources, finance, budgets, facilities, and information services needs. Direct department staff to ensure completion of major projects and tasks.
Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of related experience required
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
