Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Associate Medical Director for Health Inequalities at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting health equity and addressing health inequalities within the trust.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide professional leadership to medical and dental staff, fostering a culture that values ongoing professional development and excellence in patient care delivery.
  2. Advocate for the use of quality improvement methodologies to address health inequalities and promote health equity.
  3. Lead on reducing health inequalities through various workstreams, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to develop innovative solutions.
  4. Work as part of a cohesive team, taking lead responsibility for Health Inequalities, and contribute to policy development.
  5. Represent Health Inequalities workstreams and the Chief Medical Officer office in meetings, as required.

Requirements
  • Knowledge of health inequalities requirements and application to improve equity, access, and outcomes.
  • Significant experience of operating at Consultant/GP/Public Health professional level.
  • Experience of leading clinical teams and/or complex projects within the NHS or similar organisations.
  • Highly developed knowledge and understanding of health inequalities work streams.
