About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our dynamic and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team providing person-centred care to adults aged over 16 with autism and who have forensic risk and other complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accept referrals to the Forensic Autism Service and provide a full assessment of the individual's needs.
  • Develop and implement person-centred care plans to meet the needs of service users.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support.
  • Contribute to and facilitate Care Processes and Pathways.
  • Provide full assessments of individual's needs and provide appropriate action and intervention.
  • Support the team around safeguarding and linking in with local authorities.
  • Work with and support carers as well as service users.

Requirements
  • CQSW, CSS, DipSW or equivalent registration with Social Work England.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Degree qualification in a relevant subject or demonstrable evidence of equivalent experience in the field of practice (autism and/or forensic risk).
  • Experience and knowledge of working with autistic people.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in forensic settings and with individuals who have forensic risk.
  • Knowledge of the Trust's information sharing protocols.
  • Compliance and competence with regards to Information governance including Data Protection Act.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • A critical understanding of detailed theoretical and practical knowledge and actively integrates theory and practice.
  • 36 months post-qualifying experience, including 12 months working within autism or forensic services.
  • Able to take responsibility for decision-making in unpredictable work contexts.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills within the service.
  • Competent in management or direction of others.
  • Experience in promoting the development of others.
  • Demonstrates innovation in terms and methods used.
