Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Forensic Autism Service based at Guild Lodge and part of the Specialist Services Network. The team accepts referrals from the whole of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Trust footprint.

Main Duties
  • To accept referrals to the Forensic Autism Service; provide a full assessment of the individuals needs, and provide appropriate action.
  • The ability to work independently as well as within a team will also be required.
  • The candidate will also be required to work with multiple agencies and service providers across Lancashire & South Cumbria which will require excellent communication skills.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications

  • CQSW, CSS, DipSW or equivalent Registration with Social Work England Evidence of continuing professional development Degree qualification in relevant subject or demonstrable evidence or equivalent experience relevant to field of practice (autism and/or forensic risk).

Desirable

  • Experience and knowledge of working with autistic people Experience and knowledge of working in forensic settings and with individuals who have forensic risk MSC/Diploma in relevant area.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the Trusts information sharing protocols Be compliant and competent with regards to Information governance including Data Protection Act Able to manage change Good interpersonal skills A critical understanding of detailed theoretical and practical knowledge and actively integrates theory and practice

Experience

  • 36 months post qualifying experience, including 12months working within autism or forensic services Able to take responsibility for decision making in unpredictable work contexts Demonstrate leadership skills within the service Competent in Management or direction of others Experience in promoting the development of others Demonstrates innovation in terms and methods used

Desirable

  • Experience of working with individuals with autism who also present with forensic risk and have complex needs.
