Job Title: Experienced Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs, SEN or behavioural needs in mainstream primary schools across Christchurch.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of children. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support to pupils who require additional help.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs, SEN or behavioural needs in mainstream primary schools
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support to pupils
  • Develop and implement strategies to support pupils' learning and development
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals to ensure consistent support for pupils
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN or behavioural needs
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and ability to adapt and use initiative
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and calm manner in challenging situations
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals
  • Patience and nurturing approach to working with children
