We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs, SEN or behavioural needs in mainstream primary schools across Christchurch.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to make a positive impact on the lives of children. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support and interventions to pupils who require additional help.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs, SEN or behavioural needs in mainstream primary schools
  • Lead small group interventions to help pupils working below age-related expectations
  • Work effectively as part of a team to provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils
  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies to support pupils with challenging behaviour
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN or behavioural needs
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and ability to adapt and use initiative
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and calm manner in challenging situations
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals
