Role Overview


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mental Health Team Lead to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Early Intervention Team covering the South County and City areas of Derbyshire, driving quality standards, operational management, and leadership.


The successful candidate will have recent and relevant experience working as a Band 6 or equivalent in a mental health community setting, with experience of supervising junior staff and students, managing complex and sensitive information, and representing the nursing service in various situations.


This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a compassionate and responsive leader who can motivate and influence staff, work autonomously, and set priorities effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of management structures and processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond efficiently to complex information within tight deadlines.


Main Responsibilities



  • Day-to-day support of the teams
  • Delivering regular and effective management supervision
  • Engaging individuals in meaningful appraisals and developing personal development plans
  • Management of performance within the team
  • Working closely with the Clinical Lead to ensure safe and best practice is being delivered
  • Supporting the well-being needs of team members
  • Implementing change and being part of quality improvement projects
  • Managing employee relation issues such as sickness and performance management
  • Working with local system partners to deliver place-based care

We offer a competitive salary range of £54,033 - £66,113 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including flexible working arrangements, annual leave entitlements, and opportunities for professional development.
