About the Role

Aon is seeking a highly experienced Senior Risk & Compliance Business Partner to join our team in the UK. As a trusted advisor, you will serve as the primary contact for all Risk & Compliance affairs for our commercial risks function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Risk Capital Business Partner Team: Maintain consistent standards of advice, support, and challenge, while providing an escalation point.
  • Develop Enduring Relationships: Develop enduring relationships with key senior leaders within Risk Capital, acting as a trusted advisor and supporting senior leaders with FCA and/or other regulatory body interactions.
  • Represent Risk & Compliance: Represent Risk & Compliance in Business and key Governance Committees, when required.
  • Provide Regulatory/Risk/Compliance Advice: Provide regulatory/risk/compliance advice to the business on projects, providing tailored solutions to regulatory issues, and coordinate the implementation of regulatory change.
  • Assist in the Development of Direct Reports: Assist in the development of direct reports, regularly assessing and evaluating the skills and development needs of the team, support professional development of colleagues incl. mentoring, coaching etc.
  • Proactively Identify Efficiencies: Proactively identify efficiencies with activities conducted and/or structure to ensure the Business Partner Team remains at optimal state.
  • Deputise for the Risk Capital - Risk & Compliance Business Partner Director: Deputise for the Risk Capital - Risk & Compliance Business Partner Director when required.
About the Team

The team acts as a 'single point of contact' for the allocated business areas for all risk & compliance matters. This is a senior role within the UK Risk & Compliance Division, with a requirement for the role holder to be able to exert significant influence over the business, the team and wider division, as required.

Requirements
  • Demonstrable Extensive Risk & Compliance Experience: Demonstrable extensive Risk & Compliance experience within the Insurance Intermediary sector, with direct people leadership experience.
  • Extensive Experience of the Lloyd's & London Market: Extensive experience of the Lloyd's & London Market, MGA & Reinsurance business models.
  • Ability to Lead a Team: Ability to lead a team with diverse skillsets and capabilities.
  • Confidence and Credibility: Confidence and credibility to face off to the organisation's senior management and directors.
  • Dynamic and Proactive: Dynamic and proactive, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the role.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Issues: Knowledge of regulatory issues facing the intermediary sector.
  • Commercial Awareness: Able to demonstrate commercial awareness, business acumen and strategic planning.
  • Team Player: Ability to be a team player, collaborating effectively with colleagues both inside Law & Compliance and the wider Aon business units.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate good verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Partner Management Skills: Excellent partner management, relationship building and influencing skills at senior management level.
