Quartzelec is seeking a skilled Marine Project Engineer to oversee naval operations and execute tasks, ensuring effective technical and managerial oversight of Ship Service functions at the point of delivery.

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive background in electrical engineering, with a preference for individuals experienced in supervising ship service activities, including routine maintenance and emergency repairs.

  • Project planning and management, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget (£60,000 - £80,000 per annum)
  • Participation in client meetings to update project status and facilitate comprehensive reporting—both internally and externally
  • Preparation of daily job logs necessary for project management
  • Estimation of time and personnel requirements for project costing
  • Development and dissemination of Method Statements and Risk Assessments

The successful incumbent should be prepared for travel, predominantly between Portsmouth and Plymouth, with occasional trips to other locations as necessary.

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
  • A minimum of HNC level in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of electronics is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Hands-on experience in engineering and maintenance, including fault diagnosis capabilities
  • Proven expertise in Engineering Maintenance Management and team supervision (up to 6-8 personnel)
  • Familiarity with Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles
