The Role

This Compliance Expert will join our growing and ambitious team, taking on a significant amount of client contact and responsibility. You will work collaboratively with senior lawyers on various regulatory, transactional, and advisory matters. Approximately 50% of the role will involve advising clients on ESG-related matters, particularly in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting transactional teams by preparing due diligence reports and drafting warranties.
  • Providing ESG-related advisory services, helping clients navigate emerging regulations and ensuring compliance.
  • Advising on standalone matters across environmental and regulatory issues, preparing policies, analyzing laws, and offering strategic advice.
  • Assisting clients with crisis management and dispute resolution, particularly in response to environmental health and safety incidents.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of PQE, with demonstrable experience in environmental law and/or ESG.
  • Strong academic background and a qualified solicitor in a common law or EU jurisdiction.
  • Transactional experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and communication skills, with a keen interest in regulatory law.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.

Salary

$80,000 - $120,000 per annum, competitive in line with market standards.
