About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Design Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls, Inc. as a Senior HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and associated documents to determine the scope of HVAC projects.
  • Provide expert support in equipment selection, project estimating, and production of quotations and tender packages.
  • Perform full design and costing of HVAC solutions, including cooling load calculations and primary and supporting plant selection.
  • Redesign mechanical plant rooms to accommodate ASHPs and develop full ventilation system designs.
  • Create supporting drawings, diagrams, and control system functional descriptions.
  • Assess logistical and installation requirements, including risk assessments.
  • Attend on-site reviews with suppliers and contractors, providing technical expertise.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in design and estimating within an HVAC environment.
  • Working knowledge of mainstream HVAC systems and networks.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC solutions.
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings (mechanical and electrical).
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services or equivalent industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in ventilation system design.
  • Experience with ASHP & Mechanical plant room design.
