About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Wellbeing Practitioner for Children and Young People. This is an exciting opportunity to work and train within our service, providing evidenced-based interventions for children, young people, and families using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

The successful candidate will be part of the NHS England-funded Children and Young People (CYP) Psychological Training Programmes, working closely with our team to deliver high-quality services to our clients. As a Trainee Wellbeing Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in CBT, working with children, young people, and families in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess clients for suitability for CBT interventions and formulate treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  2. Deliver CBT interventions to children, young people, and families, using evidence-based approaches and techniques.
  3. Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless transitions and stepped care approaches.
  4. Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to develop your skills and knowledge in CBT.
  5. Contribute to the development of new services and initiatives, working closely with the management team to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years' experience working with children, young people, and families in a mental health setting.
  • Experience of working with safeguarding issues and addressing diversity in a sensitive and respectful manner.
  • Knowledge of local services, needs, and issues for children and young people in Bromley.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with children, young people, and their families.
  • Foundation in or basic knowledge of CBT.
What We Offer

We offer a comprehensive training program, including a Postgraduate Diploma in Children and Young People's Mental Health Therapies: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, delivered in partnership with Kings College London. As a Trainee Wellbeing Practitioner, you will have access to regular supervision, training, and support to help you develop your skills and knowledge in CBT.

We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment, where you can grow and develop your career. If you are passionate about working with children, young people, and families, and have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
