About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Nurse to join our team in Trafford, working as part of a multidisciplinary Macmillan Palliative Care Supportive Service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the quality of life for patients and carers with complex physical, psychological, and emotional needs. This will involve specialist nursing assessment and treatment, triage of referrals, and provision of palliative care advice to patients, carers, relatives, and other healthcare professionals.

As a key member of the team, you will also be responsible for managing a caseload of patients requiring palliative care input, ensuring high-quality care is delivered by all grades of staff. You will provide supervision and clinical support to band 4 Assistant Practitioners and visit patients who require urgent palliative care support.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to work at a Band 7 level, utilizing advanced communication skills and partnership working with other teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

Person Specification

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Advanced Communication Skills training
  • Non-Medical prescribing or willingness to work towards

You should also have relevant post-registration experience at Band 6 or above within cancer/palliative care/speciality, and previous experience working at a Band 7 level would be desirable.
