About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tenancy Sustainment Officer Lead to join our team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Transformation Team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and supervision to Tenancy Support Officers, as well as working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to provide specialist tenancy and housing-related support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a single point of contact for Tenancy Support Officers
  • Lead and supervise Tenancy Support Officers, and deputise for the Relationships, Contracts and Quality Assurance Manager
  • Work alongside multi-disciplinary teams to provide specialist tenancy and housing-related support
  • Work with service users with complex mental health needs to live independently and remain in their own home, or help them find alternative suitable accommodation
  • Act as the main point of contact to answer queries and troubleshoot issues, including homelessness, evictions, and repair work with Health & Safety risks
  • Act as the conduit between MPFT Mental Health services and local authorities
  • Assist in delivering a high standard of support to service users who are vulnerable and at risk of losing their home or becoming homeless

Person Specification
  • Degree educated or equivalent experience in an operational field relating to Housing Support and/or Leadership and Management
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional and personal development
  • Evidence of/willingness to undertake training relevant to the post
  • Experience of working with people who have difficulty engaging with services and have mental health needs
  • Experience of working in a community setting and making decisions autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to promote service user involvement
  • Counselling skills, case management experience, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Good presentation skills, both written and oral, including the ability to produce and present reports
