Job Title: Policy and Network Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy and Network Officer to join our team at Lichfield District Council. As a key member of our Environment team, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering policy and outcomes on carbon reduction, climate change, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and strategies to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability in the district.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure that policy and strategy development is informed by data and analysis.
  • Represent the Council at meetings and consultations to promote our policy and strategy initiatives.
  • Support the development and delivery of various policy initiatives, including the Carbon Reduction Plan.
  • Contribute to the development of policy and strategy documents, including reports and presentations.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as environmental science or policy.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a local government or related policy environment.
  • Knowledge of local government policy and strategy development and implementation.
  • Experience of developing and implementing policies and strategies that have delivered positive outcomes for a community or customers.
