Job Summary

Data Quality Manager/Senior Analyst is a role within the Consumer analytics & SQL team at Datatech Analytics. This position offers a unique opportunity to work virtually, with occasional self-funded travel to Southampton offices.

The salary for this position is £62,000 - £72,000 per year, making it an attractive option for individuals seeking a challenging and rewarding career.

About the Role

As a Data Quality Manager, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of customer data. Your responsibilities will include implementing a data quality strategy, building datasets by combining multiple sources, and monitoring performance using tools and processes.

You will be an active member of the wider data community, engaging with the group data team and other banners across the company. Additionally, you will maintain awareness of analytics usage in retail and other sectors, keeping abreast of competitor technology and developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing a data quality strategy and operating framework aligned with business objectives.
  • Building and maintaining 'single version of truth' datasets by combining multiple data sources, including defining and managing customer entities.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential data quality issues at all stages of the data lifecycle.
  • Monitoring and measuring data quality performance using tools and processes to ensure high standards.
  • Contributing to delivering the data quality framework and roadmap, ensuring data in the data lake is accessible to stakeholders.
  • Engaging with the group data team and other banners across the company.
  • Maintaining awareness of analytics usage in retail and other sectors, staying up-to-date with competitor technology and developments.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a mentor to junior team members, with strong leadership skills.
  • Strong skills with SQL, along with experience using languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience working with cloud-based analytical platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with good data quality practices, having implemented them in previous roles.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, coding documentation, and version control best practices.
  • Attention to detail, with a willingness to ensure accuracy in your work.
  • Proficiency in Jira/Confluence for managing workloads and documentation.
  • A curious nature, with a desire to understand how things work and identify business problems and data nuances.
  • An understanding of the value of data and ability to act with a commercial lens, prioritizing actions and outputs.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective conversation with stakeholders.
